I like to make jokes about how half dead I am.

Seriously. If you're ever exceptionally ill just joke about yourself. It's like everybody in the room is afraid to laugh because you've just reminded them that you're halfway to laying down in a grave and they'd feel guilty about laughing with you.

It's like being the outsider and listening to inside jokes.
