Nothing wrong with wanting to look pretty.
A small amount of make-up CAN be pretty and it makes girls feel more confident which is good especially for young girls.
That being said some girls look like fucking clowns and if you need a whole 30 minute tutorial on how to make yourself less ugly you're probably an ogre
no daughter of mine will wear makeup before the tender age of 17
Feeling more confident and "needing makeup to cope" aren't the same thing at all

Most girls wear make up because they like it or it suits their style. No different than buying your own clothes or wearing your hair in a certain way.
Has bollocks all to do with self esteem or "hiding".

None at all. No different than a guy using hair gel.

Cmon what? He's right.
yeah it's pretty dumbespecially when you start treading into territory like waxing, and obsessing over being the smallest size in clothing possible to the point where it's extremely unhealthy, etcpretty retarded, degrading, and shallow to do all that just to impress other people
Quote from: Joyce Byers on August 17, 2016, 10:25:05 PMNone at all. No different than a guy using hair gel.i'm surprised your taking this stance tbh.but i would argue that some/most make up is used to cover up, whereas hair gel is used to style. eye liner lip stick is a littler different obviously, but
Not everything exists in extremes. She can have fine self esteem but still want a boost after a hard week or when she's going to have something important that that A girl can wake up and say "you know what I want to look my best today" and wear nice clothes and put on make up and have a kick ass day. She's not going to cut herself if she doesn't have make up

Why? All the misogynists love hating on makeup.
And yes, some things deserve to be covered up.
When a guy has a zit and applies coverup to it, no one cares.
Not to mention that most of the widespread makeup is used for enhancement, not covering stuff up - lipstick, eyeliner, blush, foundation, etc.
