Not really.

His family was killed unnecessarily in a military raid to retrieve two droids that weren't even there. He didn't join for religious reasons, he stated before he even met Kenobi and became aware of the force that he felt the Empire was evil. He partook in the operation to destroy a weapon that had been used to destroy an entire planet just to prove a point, and he killed the leader of military dictatorship that had proven itself to be indifferent towards unnecessary civilian casualties.

I think your only valid point is this:

Picture it from a human Emperial citizen's point of view: You have a comfy life, your kids are getting an education, you're watching the news and see that the shipyard your buddy is at gets attacked by these left wing terrorists that say "May the Force be with you."

What do these "Rebels" want? They want a more equal society that non human minorities can get the same shake as your kid. In fact, once they hit legal equality, you know they'll have to get preferential treatment for a decade just to make them economically equal. Probably have affirmative action in the education system too...

Why though? I thought those scenes were really well done and highlighted how big of a victory it was...
and as for the force ghost change if Anakin shows up in 8 as a ghost then I totally understand the switch and it will make me sort of ok with it.
