Literally worst than a nightmare last night

I keep my computer on when I go to sleep, probably haven't shut down my computer in a solid three weeks. Woke up this morning to my computer strangely making a reboot noise. I turned on the screen and saw that it was trying to install Windows 10. I instantly yanked out the power cord screaming obscenities and put it back in to see if the computer was still worth saving (better having a wasted $2k computer with W8.1 than a perfectly fine W10). Everything works fine and okay and it's back to 8.1 but I had to go and turn off auto-updates.

Easily the most horrifying experience in my life.

Probably not, but I'd rather have a destroyed $2k computer than one that works fine but has W10.

Is windows 10 really to be avoided? I'm just nervous about it. I'm comfortable with windows 7

My PC recently kicked me off of Skyrim (lost progress of course) and started to auto update to windows 10. Infuriated I had to hard reset and booted back up to find 8.1 still there. Canceled the 'reservation' I didn't want and proceeded as normal until just two days ago windows updater open with no option to close or cancel an update to windows 10. Infuriated again, I had to schedule and update and then immediately cancel the reservation again.

I suspect it's only a matter of time before another inclosable windows updater appears and I'm forced to rinse and repeat.

I don't want to update because it has issues with THUG Pro, plus I am not keen on Microsoft having access to PRIVATE data.

7 is by far the only good one after XP, avoid 10 at all costs.

Why is W10 bad?
