I just don't understand how one was able to be taken into custody whilst the other wasn't. EVEN THOUGH the former was in a more dangerous situation than the latter.

Because he wasn't reaching or aiming a gun. That's the big difference here.

When the police arrived, the kid picked up the bb gun and put it in his waist band and when the cops ordered him to raise his hands, he went to reach for it

The orange-hair guy (refuse to call these sick bastards b their name) wasn't aiming his gun, wasn't reaching for his gun, he simply complied with the demands of the police

If the kid had not reached for the bb gun (which looks like an actual m1911) then he wouldn't be dead

you see if this were the case then I may be more inclined to say ok but considering that it's you  I'm going to assume you've twisted something or you've got the information from a bad place
