Leaked Episode VII Stormtrooper Helmet

Left is an actual prop, right is a render.

I myself am quite pleased with it. It pays homage to the original design, while still appearing much more sleek.
Now, there's no official confirmation that these are real, but given that the photo on the left is an actual, physical helmet, and there appear to be multiple helmets behind it, I'd say it looks legitimate.

It's alright, but I would've liked to have seen them justify the older looking technology with cruel, quick, fascist production methods.

Yeah, but at least there's a significant resemblance to the original design, rather than looking like the clone troopers or something.

I really do like the design itself.
But for stormtroopers? Not so much. Maybe something from another time period, but not right after the original trilogy.

Yeah, I see Abrams' influence, but it's been 40 years since A New Hope in the Star Wars universe as well as our own. We should expect to see an update.

I can think of so many designs that would have looked far worse.

The film is set 40 years after A New Hope, it makes sense that the Stormtroopers got an update.

They should have made it closer to mandalorian than away from it.
But there are worse things that could have been done

The armor was designed to deflect projectiles and glancing shots I think. The troopers were considered expendable, so why outfit them with good armor?

I completely disagree. The Mandalorians and Empire are not affiliated, and the designs of their armor should remain distinct.

Besides, they should look like Stormtroopers, not Clone Troopers. In addition, the stormtroopers were created before the Mandalorians were even thought of.

I actually don't mind that. It almost looks look they blended some of the old clone trooper gear in there, which is always awesome. Clone troopers were infinitly more beast and fashionable than Stormies.
