Still a very major threat. All they lost was their supreme leader, and it doesn't need much effort to have the top military general/admiral to take command. The Empire was also encompasses trillions of personnel and with it, worlds and resources to maintain a size-able control

Well considering all that was destroyed during the battle of Endor was a space station, a couple dozen ISD Is, and an executor class SSD not much was actually taken out, yes. The Empire still controlled most of the galaxy and it's not like leaders can't be replaced.

Same problem with the addition of the prequels

The Empire starts around the time Luke is born so that's only 2O years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope

Yet the Jedi are extinct
Any rements of the old world are gone
It's like its been a hundred year since the prequels

i just felt like since it was the end of what is essentially a fairytale

that automatically means everything is okay at the end

Luke is actually dead, what we will see of him is mostly flashbacks of training Han Solos daughter. She is in hiding on Tatooine because of the inquisitors.
