I think it would have been interested if she had jumped, was rescued, and ended up in a coma, and the next season was focused on the rest of Team Avatar's lives during that period of time. It would have served the series well. One thing the series needed was more character development. That way I can actually care when they get in life-threatening situations instead of desperately wanting some of them to die. I really wanted Bolin to die. Like really really bad. Had they shown some deeper layers to him and shown that he is more than comedic relief like they did with Sokka, then it would have been really cool. But no, he was obnoxious and I wanted him to die.
