Anakin is Vader as much as Ben is Kylo.I wouldn't go as far as Napalm to say that they are two separate characters, but I wouldn't treat Vader like Anakin. He doesn't respond the same way, and in terms of personality he's a different person. It may be a front created to distance themselves from the light, but functionally it works just as well as killing their old lives as long as they stay entrenched.
And I don't think anybody would argue that the line was out of character, solely the delivery. I don't know why this is being discussed so heavily.
