cutting =/= meltingjet fuel can not melt steel beams
This is the difference between pouring lighter fluid in a plank and expecting the plank to be reduced to ash, and cutting through the plank with a butane torch. If you just splash the beams with burning jet fuel, won't melt.

The insides of a tower like that can create a condition somewhat similar to a furnace though, and the fuel can in theory produce more than enough heat to begin liquifying industrial steels.
