Does Hollywood have a racial bias?

So, a few actors are boycotting the Oscars this year, because there are too few blacks being nominated for an award.

Now, is this a problem with the Academy for not picking blacks? Or might it be that the studios don't make many black films or cast many black actors?

Finally, should there be something like Affirmative Action when considering films or actors for awards?

Considering blacks constitute 13% of the population it's reasonable to assume that whites would outnumber them by a substantial amount. I don't see how this is statistically contestable.

Not everything is a participation contest anyway. Either you win or you don't. You should be in acting because you love doing it, not because you want a masturbatory pat on the back by a select group of people.
