I've seen people say this. I've also seen people say that this a more close-knit forum where it's way less informal and the members are more comfortable and do care about each other in a weird, twisted way.

What do you think? I like to think that this is more like a smaller community than a general forum, we all have our quirks and play off each other, bad shit happens sometimes but we all laugh or cringe at it afterwards.

Not saying I'd want to hang out and chill with you all IRL but... y'know, I like it here. If I got banned I'd probably really miss it.

Smaller forums are quirky and can be more interesting cuz users can build a personality and others can pick up on it. Massive forums are nice if you want to read and debate but if you're really looking that kind of thing fuck off to reddit.

I don't believe I know anyone well enough to buy into that "close knit community" stuff.

I mean, it sucks if someone from here's parents had died, they had a car crash, dropped out of uni or had money problems (of which IIRC we all helped out at one point for somebody), etc, but it's not like the same sort of concern I would have if a friend had told me a similar problem.

I would have to find somewhere else to pass the time and be as entertaining as here is for me if the site went down.

We are more close knit than bigger forums, but ultimately this is still just the internet. Things can get toxic and to take as much offense as if something happened irl is kind of dumb.

That being said, the ability to forgive each other and move on is something friends do. If I get insulted on here, I can cool off and return. If a random stranger insults me on reddit, I would ignore it and hope I don't run into them again.

I have good friends here, people I get along with despite not knowing much about them personally and other people that while I'm not friends with, I still have a certain fondness for even if they don't personally like me or something. And a handful of people that I really don't care what happens to them.

I'm pretty sure it's like that for everyone.
