From what I know it's actually been around longer than this forum.

Founded in 2009 on B.old, formally known as Decimators Hideout. Refounded in 2011 as The Hideout.

But the way some people in this thread were defending the idea of locking threads just because they find them offensive. That's garbage. The minute we start banning words just because they offend people is the minute I"m gone. The line should be at attacking/harassing people.

If you're trying to police others to match your morals/feelings or think you have a right to not be offended then you've crossed the line into sjw territory, and I've seen enough forums ruined by that type of thinking.

Because no one back on Bungie including The Flood of that generation gave a shit. Only a few people did, like my good friend Chris who I hardly knew back then.

It was an off-topic group. It had no ranks and you earned a custom title for doing something cool. Almost everyone was able to get a custom title of their liking. It was also small, it never grew big. The most I had with it was 50 members. Activity was about 10 people posting though.

The website however nowadays.... it's mainly staff posting now. Which would be Silentsnake and myself. We don't have many of our members posting let alone part of the site, and we have some new people that are not from Bungie so it's not an all Bungie site.

Yeah, Enjin is really crappy.

All the good themes were overpriced as shit or you had to have the advanced plan, which the minimum I could pay for was $2.08 per week. Pro boards lets me do way more than that and more all free of charge.

Going to say that I'm actually with you on this one. However until we find a better advertising agency some stuff is going to have to be censored. Forums aren't free and unless we're willing to start up a donation bin to cover the sites costs we're going to need to pay for it somehow.

Note: This does not mean I support people going around and attacking/harassing people just because they feel like it. I just don't believe that the casual mentioning of [ x ] word should be grounds for any sort of reprimanding.

People dislike this place, custom made, and being worked onto being more welcoming as people attempt to forge some content, and then prefer a free forum that will legitimately under most conditions attempt to limit your experience, and at some point even retain copyright over your own content? These are tough times as we are looking to move towards a new advertiser. Certain things, which annoy us all will be something we must deal with until we can assert a new advertiser who doesn't impose an iron fist onto its websites. I ask for more patience until we can settle ourselves down with a proper advertiser and we are free to express ourselves. Bungie had to answer to Microsoft, and for now, we have to answer to Google's AdSense, but this is not a long-term relationship, it's a temporary one that maybe in a few days or a week or two will be over. I promise that I will work with Cheat to improve the current conditions to the most of my capability.
