Not that it would necessarily be intentional on her part, but she is definitely an immensely unstable person.

When all this was taken out from under her, she broke down. I'm sure with some rehabilitation and therapy, she would be fine, and if she had someone to help her raise the children, she would be an odd but decent mother. Unfortunately we'll never know what happened to her in her later life because the fucking creators of the show decided to keep that little fact from us.
