Is music the most powerful medium?

Maybe medium isn't the correct term.

Anyway, do you think music has the biggest impact on your mentally/emotionally? Compared to let's say, Movies or Literature?

I seem to appreciate a good song more then a good movie or book. Music seems to be the "universal relaxant". But would you say it's the most efficient for you when compared to everything else?

i think books are actually more powerful than music

i like music waaay more though, but some books are just so damn good at expressing human emotions and ideas

I wouldn't say it's the most powerful.

The most accessible maybe, even when the style of music itself isn't, we carry libraries of it in our pockets for crying out loud.

Edit:let me clarify, I wouldn't say it's the most powerful simply because literature has had a greater effect on history by my reckoning

To some it is more than others and vise versa. I personally love music and it moves me quite quickly. I have weeped to very bittersweet melodies without any words merely because it seemed to touch my soul.

It's somewhat the most basic and primal medium we have. You don't need lyrics to have music. The music itself was a universal language that could speak to anyone in their own unique way. It can bring out the best in us and the worst in us. You don't even need fancy instruments to make it.

I think it's the most powerful medium.

It really depends on what form of media resonates with you the most.
I find the written word to be equally as powerful when the writer is particularly adept at portraying their point.
