Is healthy living at the expense of happiness worth it?

Yes, yes it is.

Happiness isn't the end-all-be-all, so it shouldn't be treated so highly. Putting down that slice of cold pizza and eating those disgusting dry oats can be worth it, even if it's disgusting. It's a momentary pleasure you're missing out on, and tbt if you eat dry oats everyday for no reason you're just not very smart. You can still eat healthy and enjoy your meal, but that's not really my point- my point being that there's more to happiness.

Normies tell you that no matter what you should be happy in life. Live, laugh, love. I say fuck that. Contentedness, fulfillment, and glory are good enough prizes to pay for with suffering.

This is not the greatest sig in the world, no. This is just a tribute.
Disregard well being, acquire a young death. You save money on healthcare that way.

Happiness should't be your goal, no, but sacrificing happiness so you can live longer is retarded. Sacrificing happiness so you can look "good" is even more retarded.

Why not both? Life is a balancing act anyway.

Without happiness? Why take it to such extremes? Nobody's depressed here.

Besides, what is healthy living? You think someone who's fat and eats lots of junk food is living healthy whereas someone who eats healthy foods and works out isn't? Are you stupid?

I agree, but your reply isn't supposed to be addressing the OP, is it? I had another goal in mind. I was thinking that you live healthy so that you can operate at your best.

Damn, my sarcastic use of the word guess sure does detract from your very serious failure to understand that doing something at the expense of something else means you can't have both.

I'm not so sure about that.

To be healthy overall you have to have a healthy mentality. People don't realize how significantly the mind affects the body.

Eating healthy at the expense of momentary happiness doesn't mean you're suddenly unable to feel happiness. Are you a software with bad programming, or are you just dense?

Sometimes you have to be unhealthy to get stronger, whether that be the body or the mindset. If you wanna live until you're 110, just do light exercise and eat a little.

The question in no way indicates that you will still be happy, it clearly pits being healthy for life vs feeling happy for life, in the way Charlie first posed it.

Your misinterpretation is based on your own cognitive faults.

Is buying a chair at the expense of money worth it? I think so, but I don't think that you should spend all your money on a chair. Still, the question doesn't mean that all your money will be spent on it, so I'm just nitpicking.

No, happiness is when a child gets something he desires, or when he's playing around without a care in the world.

You can be quite serene and emotionless while be content, and fulfilled.

But they're not mutually exclusive? Can I not be satisfied while happy at the same time?

You act like happiness is a currency, but the original thread very plainly treats it as a boolean.

Either you live a healthy life or a happy life, that is the question.

I'm just curious. Happiness is an incredibly subjective view that can encompass a lot of of other emotions and feelings.

Does my answer matter to you?

Dense

Can you stop questioning everything like a child and formulate answers on your own? Having to babysit you and answer all your questions is getting annoying.

I didn't reply to Charlie's question, I took it and answered a different one. Sure the words are the same, but the questions are inherently different. Even a fool would understand that, because they're not so sure of themselves that they won't stop to question their interpretation for a moment.
