Is Draining A Blister Bad?

I recently walked 2.5-3 miles without shoes after a few drinks, and I awakened yesterday with five massive blisters around my feet. Since I did not wish to drive two towns over with a massive hangover, I went to visit my father for a shark fishing trip. Amidst this, I could barely walk at all. In response to my hindered movement, I sanitized the sword pendant from my necklace and a blister on my left foot before puncturing said area. Almost instantly, the fluids within it applied a fine coat around my sunglasses and face. It was entertaining enough to take a few pictures of. I had to either treat the area, or it would have busted on its own while I had shoes on. Was this a good idea?

I'd say if you treated it after, you should be good.
Just go to a doctor immediately if anything seems to be turning bad.

I always cut a small incision with an x-acto knife and drain them immediately.

I had some really bed ones on the bottoms of my feet from where I burnt them running on a hot tarmac, and I drained them for immediate relief and I couldn't even tell they had ever been there the next day except for some discolouration.

I have a couple on my hands from digging up some stuff in the backyard. I have a habit of picking at things like blisters, so when I get them they usually pop. I find that, as long as you don't tear off the skin, it's usually fine.

The liquid causes swelling, which causes unneeded pain.

imo they heal faster without it.

It depends on the blister, popping them is really the best way, to make sure it's not puss in there.
Popping it and it healing vs not popping it and possibly making it worse.
