I only ever saw one or two when I went to HS and college. Honestly, the social pariahs I knew in school wore shit like Swiss military backpacks and overcoats in the Spring.

most of the kids i've seen who use them seem pretty normal

Why are you cheating on a Calculus exam? Calculus is, like, a big part of astronomy. You should learn the material. You'll have been a smarter person afterwards having done that.

Simply put it means you don't know the material and you're just making it harder for yourself later on.

Well, if someone fully grasps what they're doing they shouldn't have to cheat to pass. Are you cheating because you're lazy, or because you can't picture it all together in your mind in a way that makes sense? If it's the latter, it might be that you don't fully understand what you're doing. It's best to learn it right the first time or it'll come back to bite you at some point.

It's only cheating if you get caught. Other words, it's using your resources.

Eh. Not like it matters anymore. I actually didn't need to look at what I planned to use to cheat. Most of it was piss easy and stuff. What I'm hoping is that the final let's us use the "shortcut" methods we've learned instead of the other methods.
