Is anything being done to improve the site?

It seems that the site on the whole is no longer going in any direction. There is no improvement, no updates, or new features...

I understand Cheat has commitments but one would think there would be something, anything that shows things are still happening. In fact this is the main thing that strikes me as a stagnation of the site. It's not the discussion or the amount of it, just the lack of new things.

Seems like the perfect metaphor. A cool idea at first but since then nothing has been done to replace the novelty and now it's just meh. Even annoying at time because it draws what little life is left in the main boards away.

I agree. I just literally haven't had the time to do any improvements lately (even though I have a few of them mapped out). Today (I guess, since it's 1:30AM) I'll be buying a VPN and start the process of moving the site over to the better host probably next week.

After that, well, I was actually considering migrating the site to WordPress / BBPress. There are well-supported plugins for it that allow private groups, the platform is waaaay more modern than SMF, and it has blog/article support out of the box, which is another direction I want to go in so that we can establish ourselves as a gaming and off-topic forum/site that actually puts out content.

The shit thing is just my lack of time available.

Cheats the only one actively working on it, and even then, he has a job.

We just need people to get stuff going as a group, gamenights, clan stuff etc in games. Hell, maybe even makes videos because Brute went full normie.

I feel like it wont go anywhere because we don't really live on anything in particular, for a lack of a better word. Going for a gaming Off-site that brings out content under the Sep7 name is probably our best option.

Yeah. A community needs to be forged to some degree. More than it has. Just more things need to happen.

I don't know... Might be a "good old days" sort of feeling. It just feels like more was going on... like stuff was occurring on the site that was out of the ordinary. Hell, I just spent a time reminiscing about plug.dj back when it was a new thing here, it was nearly 2 years ago.

She really was a blessing for a time. Having a second person to do stuff really expedited the process of coding and all of that boring jazz.

so something i learned from my time in Sniggwaffe when i use to play EVE

the strong corps in EVE don't stick around and stay strong because they're good at EVE and they're all super interested in the game, they stick around because they've built a strong community not just by playing EVE, but by also making sure to interact with each other a lot through other avenues whether it be through their forum, other video games, shooting the shit on their mumble, or just holding stupid karaoke contests

Yep, when BF1 is out I'll try to sort out a BF1 server that lasts rather than goes up for a week and dies.

I think there is the plan to get an Ark server going too when crossplay becomes a thing so that may help that too.

Hard to say because it may change when they come out, but they are in that range of not cheap but not expensive, like £50 for 3 months or something (off the top of my head)
