"that's just your opinion" is nothing more than an empty non-sequitur that stifles discussion and fosters an atmosphere where people are afraid to speak their true minds without sugarcoating, walking on eggshells, or otherwise potentially hurting someone's feelings just for choosing to assert oneself in a way that doesn't insult the intelligence of everyone reading the post

so it's not about free speech; if anything, posting shit like that is anti-free speech, and these rules would encourage more in-depth discussion, because it opens the door to better responses, such as "why do you feel this way?" which will inevitably lead to a more fruitful conversation or argument

everyone over the age of 3 understands that nobody's opinions are factual, so there's absolutely no point in acknowledging the subjectivity of your statements—it's kind of like pointing out that the sky is blue; why would you even do that

the only appropriate response to posts like that is to ban them, because they're essentially spam that contributes absolutely nothing

Is there a punishment for a simple "Your opinion is wrong"?
