It's great that they haven't shown what events cause Finn to flip out and desert from the Empire.

We don't know yet BUT I think that Ren mindraping Bo Dameron will be near the start, and that will cause him to mutiny.

 Since he crash lands on Jakku and TIE fighters are short range, that must mean Ren's Star Destroyer was orbiting it. Makes you wonder what they were doing there.

That, or maybe Finn is part of a detachment of soldiers sent to the surface along with Kylo Ren, where the unit massacres a village, an act Finn is powerless to stop. They then return to the Star Destroyer, where Finn decides to desert, and then hijacks a TIE. I say this because if you look at the scene where Finn pulls off the helmet and looks exasperated, his armor  appears dirty, but he's on the Star Destroyer.

Or maybe a bit of a fight breaks out on the Star Destroyer and he gets beat up a bit, then takes off his helmet before jacking a TIE fighter.


I'm guessing Ren was searching for the Force Sensitive and finds Rey, judging by his action figure's dialogue.

Katarn is one of the most unique characters because he's seen both sides of the force.

So has:
- Luke Skywalker
- Anakin Skywalker
- Quinlan Vos
- Galen Marek
- Revan
- Jacen Solo
- Kanan Jarrus

And probalby a shit load more in the EU. The only thing that made Katarn "unique" was his personality. That of which is basically replicated within Kanan.

He was banging Hera in A New Dawn, so probably still is.

He was banging Hera in A New Dawn, so probably still is.

New Dawn makes it annoyingly clear that at the end of the book they don't have a romantic relationship at all.

Most characters still apply. Katarn had good personality, but that type of personality and his struggles were far from original in the old EU.

I was referring to the fact be saw both dark and light (like many others yes), but also was a stormtrooper, mercenary for the rebel alliance, then a Jedi Master.

You know what I would like to see in the form of a few page comic or something. Boba Fett in  around 15 BBY, following up on a rumor of a Jedi hanging in the slums of Coruscant. Goes in to kick in the door to find a broken Mace Windu with a robot hand or something. Fett basically mercy kills him at that point, and is somewhat disappointed how pathetic the Jedi became.

Would make his struggle to kill Mace in TCW that much more impactful.

Man. I am WAY TOO FUCKING HYPED for TFA. I keep watching the new trailer over and over. The bit when The Force theme kicks in is just like.... AAAAAAARGHH!

More excited for Rebels and the new comics tbh.

J.J.'s track record, plus known plot details don't have me excited. Their playing it safe with the story. It won't be bad, but it won't be better than any of the other movies. They need to not risk anything so they can draw in the "muh original trilogy" crowd and maximize profit, then they'll actually do stuff with story for 8,9, and the anthology films.

Also, the force theme isn't in the new trailer. It's the carbon freeze theme.
