It was really cool. I haven't seen the originals so I didn't know what the fuck was going on. My favorite character was the guitar guy. He just stood there shredding like fuck.

you dont need to have seen the originals, the series is sort of an anthology

i loved this one. its on par with mad max and the road warrior. great visuals, great sountrack, fantastic action scenes all the way through.

I was kinda disappointed. The way Angry Joe et al described it it was just an insane movie filled with action. Turns out the best bits were in the trailers -_-. Hate when that happens. Still a good movie but just not as awesome as everyone says. Better than Road Warrior though.

That's a really stupid excuse to give for the praise when the movie is a summer action flick with almost no plot or character development. It's not new or refreshing, it's just a badass, two-hour-long car chase with a explosions and a guy playing a flamethrowing guitar. Shit doesn't have to be genre-defining to be well-received or high quality.

Yeah man, that was a great movie. I don't think that most of the plot was suppose to make much sense and I'm pretty sure that the first movies were the same way :p

Action movies tend to come out during the summer, and plot-driven movies tend to come out around winter. The use of the term specifies that I'm comparing it to those effects-filled action movies that are coming out this summer, as opposed to, say, Star Wars.

AAA video games tend to release near the end of the year, so I suppose you could also compare those, but it's not the same.

It was good. The characters felt fully-fleshed and realised, independent of how much screen time they were given. The action sequences beg for a second viewing in order to take it all in properly. Some of the symbolism is a bit rich, but it's not exactly forced onto the screen so it's easily forgivable.

I rate this well. I so hoped it would be good.
