I don't see why his thread in serious was locked, it seemed like a legitimate enough discussion.

However, if you're just going to clog the forums due to his insistence to talk about a particular topic (three, four times now?) you might as well just give him a light ban.

It was about the proximate causes and effects of CP, which is a legitimate discussion to have in the Serious forum considering it really is a pressing issue on society and how we should respond to it.

it absolutely does matter. Your opinion is not the ultimate standard of this board. If this community as a whole has not established a rule prohibiting a topic that has a legitimate discussion value, as controversial as it may be, then prohibiting it is simply acting according to personal bias which is detrimental to maintaining the degree of freedom that is expected of the community.

However, there is no justification for locking his threads in the Serious board simply because he refuses to quit posting about a specific topic when said specific topic isn't forbidden. The moderation system has to be impartial.

I understand if mods are biased, people gonna be people.

I'm going to go ahead and unlock the discussion of CP and move it to Serious. Discussing something is different than posting pics about it. There's actually an analogous rule about this (posting pictures of boobs vs talking about them), but I suppose I should take a look at the rules again to make sure they're clear. This is a sensitive issue, after all, but that's what Serious is for.

I don't think Slash was misusing his power, but I do think there was a big misunderstanding on what was and wasn't allowed. He's right on for locking threads calling out members, though. Use PMs if you want to get an individual's attention.

CP as a topic of discussion: Fine, so long as it's not involving the actual illegal stuff or how to obtain it or anything (remember, nothing illegal, guys).

It was against the rules to talk about illegal things on Bnet. I assume that has been carried over here as an unwritten rule, if you do not have the common sense to justify if the thing you are posting is right or wrong then you should not be here.

If the topic is basically: "Man, how about that CP? Good stuff, right?" then, no, that's not allowed. The thread in question was actually a meta discussion about it, rather than one involving it.
