What would be the best city to stay in (for sightseeing and cost), and what are some must-sees?

As far as what to see? Too many too count. Imperial War Museum is a must. Likewise a good pub.

Honestly, I don't know much about England other than visiting it once, and living then right after I was born.

But from what I can tell it depends what you are interested in. Each city and region is different with its own accent. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow.

London is good, but if I remember correctly, UK has a good transit system between cities, and honestly, Manchester and London are two main spots you want to check out.

Now if Ron Swanson is something that speaks to you then maybe the Scottish Isles may be something to your liking, and if you like sheep then the Welsh.

Everything's really cheap up north. Like, the further away from London you are the cheaper everything gets. Leeds has the Royal Armouries if you're interested in guns, swords, bows amd so forth used throughout history. You can also get from London to Manchester in one or two trains in less than a day if that's your thing, too.

Imperial War and Natural History museums in London are cool and you also have your standard tourist bollocks like Buck Palace, Parliament etc down there.

London has everything. Cornwall has a lot of our old style towns. Leeds has the old guns, Manchester is a fairly big city, good for sightseeing. But honestly, depending on how long you'd stay, London is a good place because you could also go to places like Manchester and other cities.

Scotland is generally a nice place just some people. Wales is a lovely place to go sightseeing

Cardiff Bay's got a decent touristy vibe to it.

If your looking for historical interest AND a seaside town, Tenby is a good shout.

London's a bit of a clusterfuck unless you preplan on what you want to do.

Even Belfast's alright, albeit a bit less pedestrian friendly (and being British temporarily).
