So my Dad's going back to work soon and this gives me a lot of time in the house alone. I've never really watched any particular animes and I want to because the art styles in some of them look completely fucking nuts.

So considering a large number of the community watches their fair share of Anime, I was wondering what would be good for a newbie like me.

Suggestions?

Death Note is also worth a watch, but as the other thread makes clear the ending is pretty garbage and it's episode 25 that it starts to decline IIRC.

Looks like an anime to me.

If you're able to tell that it's an anime just by paying attention to its artstyle, then the artsyle is not diverse enough.

and there are a couple of others too.

Some are alright, like Attack on Titan/Shingeki no Kyojin.
Some are pretty crap, but look pretty like Sword Art Online.
Cross Ange is just haram, do not watch/do not look up.
Same goes for Boku no Pico.

The others I've never watched myself but it's the typical drawn out, never ending going nowhere story that's made to milk the fanbase IIRC. Or just plain shit.

Id suggest Kyoukai no Kanata is a good one for 'beginners'

I actually watched the first episode of Cross Ange and couldn't even finish SAO.

I managed to finish SAO, gave up on GGO and all the other shit though. >tfw random character is DYING COS AIDS ISN'T THAT REALLY SAD??!?!?!?!?

I saw one of those infographic like pictures with various details about Cross Ange and I didn't even finish reading it before I closed the tab in disgust ._.
