Currently watching Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans as it comes out each week. It quite enjoyable actually.

Both me and Exo are new to the Gundam universe but it seems to tell its own story and doesnt require any knowledge of the previous shows it seems. But we will go back to watch them.

Based off what I'd expect you to like

Rokka no Yuusha: A mystery anime set in an Aztec type world about six chosen heros that are supposed to defeat the demon god. But when they all meet up, there's seven of them.
Samurai Flamenco: A spoof of Power Rangers and similar series but it holds its own as a story about a man who wants to be a superhero no matter who tells him they aren't real or what happens to him while he's fighting for justice.
Gurren Lagann: Mecha anime about never giving up and doing the impossible.

I'll second Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, One Punch Man and Overlord.
