Doesn't this damn manga go on a 10 year hiatus after every chapter is released? Guts was on a boat for like a decade and Casca is still retarded

Main reason I never read this is because I don't want to be the fan waiting 6 months for a new chapter. Too damn long.

The over-the-top violence and shock value is indeed what probably draws people initially, (That's why garbage like Elfin Lied gets popular) but even beyond that, it has legitimately well written characters and relationsips, and a world that legitimately has more going on than Edge Lordsman and his crew.

There was precived sexual tension at least on Griffith's side but it was written to be a bit more ambiguous and complex than that. Griffith is a weird-ass sociopath and it isn't actual clear if his love for Guts is platonic, romantic, or of he just see's him as property.
Guts is completely strait for all we can tell.
