I detect a hint of sarcasm there.
Could you go and tell your parents that you've given out your address to people you don't know particularly well on the internet? The wrath of parents isn't truly horrible, I'll admit, but it still sucks.

But now, I've suddenly realized just how wrong that is. How bad that is. How really threatening it could be to my livelihood, as well--I just know there might be one or two extremely vindictive people out there who are willing to ruin my life with the things I've said here, and the things I've posted here. There's a slim chance of that happening, but just knowing the reaction I get whenever I make a thread--people calling me autistic, ugly--it doesn't matter what I say. I've pissed off this community so much, and I've become SUCH a pariah, that I could find the cure for cancer and there would STILL be a few of you who would try to drag my name through the mud some more
I admire the forward thinking, though I still think overall it's a stupid idea.Is there anywhere on the internet where you wouldn't be willing to put your address? Dark/Deep web, stuff like that.
didn't you say this yourself?

Dark/Deep web, stuff like that.it's less a matter of place and more a matter of circumstancehere's the thingposting an address by itself isn't anything--you'd have to be one dedicated stupid-ass lifeless motherfucker to travel to my location just because i posted it on the internetif i posted something like "i have one trillion dollars up for grabs in my house" (which i don't), and then posted my address, okay, yeah, that's pretty dumbif you are someone with people searching for youthen don't post your address, duhbut, if you're open to the idea of meeting people over the internet and sharing what city brought you up as a kid, and discussing your place's culture and stuff like that, i don't see anything wrong with that
People are usually attacked because they "happen" to be located near the person who posted their address. You say I'm crazy if I drive across the entire country to find you.But..........if you are only a 15 minute drive into town, that's not hard to do.
Quote from: Jocephalopod on January 07, 2015, 07:02:43 PMdidn't you say this yourself?you took that completely out of contextand just so you know, that makes me very angryi wasn't referring to the revealing of personal informationi was referring to the fact that being as big of a cunt as i was online could hurt my chances of getting employed, which is trueit had nothing to do with revealing my address
But, if you're open to the idea of meeting people over the internet and sharing what city brought you up as a kid, and discussing your place's culture and stuff like that, i don't see anything wrong with that
First of all because there are absolutely no upsides, so why put it down in the first place

But just be aware of your actions and the fact some days it's the small shit that comes around to get you when you least expect it.of coursea lot of people are getting super emotional over the fact that i apparently claimed that people who don't reveal their personal information are pussies--i might have said something similar to that, but i don't think i ever said it outright, only impliedyou're not a pussy if you don't reveal stuff to people--you're just protective, and i would argue OVERprotective--even paranoidand i think you have priorities to sort outbut you're no weaker than me, and i'm not stronger than youi just CARE LESS than youi'm aware of the "risk" i incur upon myselfbut i find that revealing personal information has a lot more benefits than people really take into considerationlike, for example, secondclass didn't know that i lived in the same state as himhe doesn't like meand i don't himbut if we did, we might be like, "hey, that's kinda neat, maybe we can meet up somewhere"oh, but meeting people you've met over the internet? DANGER DANGERAXE MURDERERS, RAPISTS
