It's not that people aren't on your wavelength so much as the entire dating scene is full of people so afraid of showing emotion that they try and keep things as casual as possible to avoid scaring others off, with parties being a good environment to play the game. Y'know, that whole 'wait this exact amount of time to text back' shebang? It kind of results in people just associating with each other without involving much of their personal lives so no real connection is never formed.

It'll go a long way in the big picture of your social department if you get comfortable communicating openly with others, but I understand perfectly how hard it can be. There's a big step between pseudocommunity and a genuine one.

No you're pretty much correct. I'm an introvert. I have been making progress with some classmates I've known for awhile and even hung outside of school with them, but still. I'm not that sociable of a person, and yet I try to be.

in my opinion it's more important to acquire personal happiness and acceptance with one's self, rather than hoping for that special someone to finally come along and fix all of your problems. that special someone will not exist because the only person who can truly make you happy is yourself.
