dracula can eat my whole ass!
so i've been of work since the 15th of june. two week, tomorrow. they've filed me as a lay-off so i can apply for unemployment. if i remember correctly, under unemployment i'd be making 60% of what i was, which is enough for my car insurance and rent (not that the former matters in the short term, my license was just suspended for 30 days for reasons unknown).

i have never really enjoyed my job, i was just good at it and it kept me busy. but now i have no interest in going back... all this free time i've had has really given me an opportunity to focus on things i've been putting off. i read somewhere near 6 hours a day. i've been drawing like crazy. even more useless stuff like getting around to starting dark souls and super metroid have been getting checked off my to-do list.

my mother has been pushing me to go back into full-time schooling. before this, i was in night school and in contrast to how i usual am in school, i did really well. i still don't have my high school diploma, i only need a single credit to graduate. but i need 3 more university (academic) courses to get into the program i've been looking at, so i could hammer those out in a single semester or over the course of the year. plus there are a lot of emotional things i've been putting off confronting for my own sake that i should see a counsellor about.

the thing is, i'm still in contact with my friends at work and apparently things have gone to shit without me. i'd feel bad if i just didn't return, but that's what i'm leaning towards. i don't know, i feel bad about it but i'm seriously considering just not returning to my job. what do you guys think?

I'm not saying full time, I'm saying if there's another way. Maybe recommend them someone else, work part-time to do the essentials, or something like that. Just don't do it at the expense of your well-being. They shouldn't be this badly off without you. That's on them.

Just go to school. Whatever you've become accustomed to after dropping out isn't some new life, it's a dead end.

Education is freedom.
