I didn't go to prom either.

I'm a bit upset with myself on a lot of things during High School, but social events like that wasn't one of them. I absolutely hated my school and I still resent it four years after graduating.

I was a completely different person in high school. If who I am now was the person I was back then, I'd probably have better grades and be more social/better looking, but I still probably wouldn't have gone to prom.

Reasoning probably changed. I didn't go because I was simply bitter about my place on the social ladder, now it probably would've been just bitterness against my school.

I actually didn't realize we were having a prom until I noticed all the cars parked in the streets around my neighborhood and I saw some people in tuxedos and dresses having their pictures taken while I was out walking my dogs.

I don't know what your prom was like, but from what I can tell, you usually rent out a gymnasium/hall, get a D.J., set up tables for mingling and stuff... it's essentially the first formal get-together you'll be doing as an adult, alone. I bet when you hang out with Joey after school you don't get all that.

prom was p fun for me, hung out with friends and danced and ate. i mean, nothing special but hey, gave me a curfew that was extended until 3 in the morning. i saw it as a day to finally see the people you knew in school and then focus on finals.

I only went my Junior year. I thought it was pretty boring so I didn't bother my senior year. Almost wish I went since it's such an "important" event but whatever. Still went to the afterparties and that's all I cared about.

Don't trip chocolate chip. I didn't go to my prom either. I really felt regretful/left out for a few days but trust me 100% when I say in a weeks time you will be completely over it. People may bring it up once in a while but for the most part it doesn't change your life in any way

And in a years time you will be soooo over it lol. One thing I will say though is to use the feelings you have right now to motivate you to form more relationships and connections with people

Like I said though mayne, it seems sucky now but the feeling will pass very soon and you'll feel relieved
