Then it's probably a WASR. There may be some problems because of that. Look up some videos on how your AK should look so you know you didn't get ripped off. There's not much that can be wrong with an AK, but if there is, it's either nothing to worry about or gunbreaking.

I think I'm safe. The guy I bought it from is a regular gun dealer and he has the same model. He fired a few thousand rounds withing 5 years and he still hasn't cleaned it.

It's one of those things I always wanted to get. Sure it may have been dumb but I had the money to and today is that once in a year chance I'm able to get one.

I get that AK47 is just a universal term to group all AK variants, but there's also AKMs and AK74s. An actual AK47 on the civilian market would be thousands because it was only produced for a short while. Most AKs civies own are either 74s or Ms, the former being chambered in 5.45 and the latter in 7.62. Ms do look similar to 47s as they generally have wood furniture but furnitiure from a 47 won't fit an M. The furniture between the 74s and Ms are interchangeable however
