If you're not subscribed to it already, gizmag has a lot of space related articles and could give you a lot of inspiration for this project. I think I saw one today about terra-forming mars, actually. Can't find the link though.

I can't write without painstaking plans layed out. I've been planning for my story for two years (albeit on and off) and I'm still not close to having a finished plan.
I think my subject matter is unique enough.
