I fucking hate retail. Used to work at a thrift store in the warehouse but still had to help up front. My gawd the amount of people I wanted to strangle each and every day.....

I felt that way to at first, eventually you just get used to them and realize that they're idiots.  Thankfully at the place I work at terrible customers are a minority.

What's it like knowing your job is completely unnecessary and could easily be done by the cashier?

I also do other things such as mopping floors, taking in carts and whatever needs to be done.  And in a grocery store where you often have carts overflowing with items the role of bagboy is necessary.
