How would you fix the current state of the DCCU?

What with the critical response to BvS and just generally how WB are choosing to facilitate this universe I think it's fair to say that the way they've handled this franchise has been pretty shocking. You can't just cram an entire roster of rich characters between two movies in the space of three years and expect to crank out the DC equivalent of the Avengers and not get assblasted for it.

Personally I think BvS should've been a stand-alone Superman or Batman movie, subsequently followed by Wonder Woman at minimum before even thinking about getting a JL movie in the works. I think it's unfair to expect stand-alones for every single member of the JL considering how many there are, but Christ, at least take your time with how you process your cinematic universe for fuck sake.

Fire ZS, stop rebooting characters and making separate universes, don't rush to release Justice League, and don't worry about origin stories for heroes everybody already knows about.

I think the problem is everyone's excering a clone of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

DC is clearly taking a more linear direction with this where everybody is going to be introduced through their association with Superman, and will get their spin off movies after they're established.

Superman is kind of going to be the main character of this franchise, whereas Marvel doesn't really have a main character.

Not really. Although Marvel have pretty much nailed how to establish characters within a shared cinematic universe, it doesn't necessarily mean all of their films are great. If DC had at least followed a similar sort of logistical framework whilst keeping faithful to their own creative processes it would hardly be a 'clone'. A clone of the MCU would be Batman cracking quips every other second while Superman attempts to stop an enemy from using whatever plot device weapon they happen to have created to convenience the plot.

If I was given the Kevin Feige role of DC, I would basically do an unofficial reboot to the franchise. We start out where we left off with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all having met but no acknowledgement to previous movies. Lex Luthor is now played by Mark Strong, no questions asked.

We stop making our movies for edgy tweens. All the scripts to upcoming movies after Suicide Squad get tossed and we start over. Look at Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a failure rather than an inspiration. Zack Snyder can produce but no longer directs and Goyer gets fired (unless the bad writing is more WB's fault rather than his).

Wonder Woman is now based in modern times and we cancel the Aquaman and Flash movies but put Green Lantern, Superman and Batman solo movies in before JL 1. The Justice League lineup is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Flash. Cyborg get removed from the lineup and his movie cancelled.

After that, the changes are fairly straightforward: Batman doesn't kill, Joker doesn't look like an idiot, Momoa's costume has color, etc. Find filmmakers that like and respect the characters. We embrace the source material and comic lore instead of trying to reinvent it.

First off make Synder cinematographer or something because his visual style is on point but the dude can't make a coherent movie
Force Nolan by gunpoint if necessary to come back and helm the DCCU

Phase I: Justice League

Phase II: Trinity War

Phase III: Forever Evil

For those who don't know what Trinity War or Forever Evil is, search it up on Wikipedia or read the story line here

After this we can go back to individual movies and spinoffs
We can do Flashpoint, Injustice, Hush for Batman, Green/Red Lanterns, ect ect

I haven't finished Darkseid War yet but what I have read is extremely good
That could be another major event phase

Have a Pandora, Phantom Stranger, and Justice League Dark story line to set up Forever Evil

End Phase II with the JLA and JL in an all out brawl, ending in the release of the Crime Syndicate

Phase III: Forever Evil
Phase III has a way darker tone and focuses more on the villains

One movie showing a fight between the JL and CS with the JL ultimately losing
With a defeated JL, we follow Batman who is forced to team up with the villains to bring down the CS
Have movies focusing on villain story arcs following Lex Luthor
Have one movie following Batman in prepping against the CS and teaming up with Lex Luthor

End Phase III by having the villains battling the CS with the villains ultimately winning and restoring Earth to the way it was before
