Plus George Miller is still doing Fury Road, and I think he's learned from Beyond Thunderdome and knows what to fix. The fact that the movie will be R shows already that he's not making Beyond Thunderdome 2.

Mad Max was pretty much dead until this movie came along. Nothing besides a NES game was being done without after Thunderdome.
