How was your P.E/Gym experience in school?

I would always be one of the last picks to be on a team when we would play football, basketball, etc.

But when we would play softball, they made their biggest mistake by not choosing me first. The team I was on won every game because they had me on the team. Even though I had to play like every position because people were awful, we still won all our games.

Rugby in Spring (rainy and muddy), cross-country in Winter (cold af with shorts made compulsory), and football in Summer where the pent-up kids would get mad if you got the ball off them.

Good times. Eh, honestly it wasn't my favourite lesson but it wasn't totally shit.

It was fine. Learned the fundamentals of weightlifting, which was really valuable. I think PE and sports should be more mandatory than they currently are.

I enjoyed PE. I was a bit of a tryhard, but hey. In year 10, a quarter of the year was spent doing Bowling, and another quarter was spent on playing Pool. It was generally a bludge, and I enjoyed the Activities usually. Talked some absolute smack with some of the others, though.

I only ever did P.E if it was dodgeball or fitness suite. It was almost always football though, so I hardly did P.E and just played on my iPod.

P.E was fun I was one of the few in my class that actually did the extra credit which gave you a whole letter grade by running on the track for 35min without stopping.

I did all kinds of standing around to the side with my hands in my pockets when we played sports. Much more fun watching a bunch of children trying and failing to shoot baskets than actively participate.

Except when it came to running. Running is my thing.

My school was pretty liberal, so gym was a complete joke. I wasn't complaining, though.

It was normally just a week of doing all aspects of the fitness exam (which was called "the fap" (fitness assessment portfolio)), followed by a semester of games and stuff you could vote on: archery, dodgeball, rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, etc...

I used to have some problems with my breathing a while back, so I used it as a get out of jail free card when I didn't want to do it. So in that regard, it was okay. But in the actual pe stuff, fucking hated it.

Only time it got half decent was in Y10/ Y11 when I basically got to choose from the football/ rugby type stuff or stuff like badminton and tennis. So me and my friends dicked around trying to hit the roof with a badminton thingy, that was fun. Oh, and ping pong when there was too many people.

Then in Y11, I got pulled out of PE to do history. It was for the people who were falling behind in history, but I asked if I could. So I spent that latter months of school doing history stuff instead of PE. It was the right choice to make.

Oh, I was pretty decent at dodgeball. Terrible at hitting people, but I'm good at dodging things thrown at me. Skills learnt from people being pricks transitioned well - I was commonly last man standing on my team.

Though, the funny thing is. I've realised I've actually lost more weight after I stopped doing PE than while I did it. Maybe it's because at the school I started at next, I walked home every day. So that was a three mile walk every day. 15 mile walk every week, total.

Got 3 teeth broken and 2 concussions from those savages.

High school was an absolute joke. Our "Gym" was the size if 2 classrooms.
