Very few people enjoy working outside of whatever it is they really want to do for a living.

You could think of it a different way though. If you want to continue to live the way you currently are or improve your current standing you're going to have to pay your dues. Same goes for anything else you may want to obtain. Very rarely are people ever handed a comfortable life and all the things they may want on a silver platter.

Also to add onto inglorious there is a lot of competition for the piss easy zero education required jobs out there. Applying for those is going to be like playing the lottery if you don't have any prior work experience.

A way to " hedge your bets" so to speak would be to list any volunteer work you've done. That shows that you aren't a complete zero when it comes to working a job.

Of course there is, if your good at graphic design or some form of art you can go freelance. Although if you do that incorrectly you just waste your time, it's still an avenue to make money.

My brother banked in for a while through freelance jobs.

It really seems nigh impossible to get a summer job as a college student. I live in a pretty business heavy area in the tri-state area of Pa, New York, and New Jersey, and it's very rare that I'll see people my age working. I went to a Wendy's a week ago, and saw they had a help wanted sign (not that I could work there) but all of the workers had to be between 30 and 50 years old. Heck, even at both the Micheal's and Petsmart I still see the same people I saw over winter break and last summer working there. I get the same woman an the register evertime I go to buy cat litter and feeder fish. It blows my mind how we're supposed to find seasonal work these days.

2 year unpaid internship must have 4 years industry experience. No break 12 hour shifts enquire within.

A couple years ago, 2 people in my Town started a protest because they'd each submitted ~500 applications with no success. I have no idea what they ended up doing. It took me no less than 325 tries over 2 and a bit years to land a job. I learned after my 200th attempt that even the shittest jobs I was applying for had me going up against well over 500 other people.
