I'd say I'm pretty successful now. Doubt I'll get much more successful in the decades to come.

Quote from: RomanGladiator on January 21, 2015, 03:11:30 PMI will be 23 in two months. I've spent eight months (almost nine) after graduating college being unemployed. I made a huge mistake choosing a shitty liberal arts major years ago and paying for it. I don't have enough money to get a master's degree. I've been applying to Gamestop and Kmart and now my standards have dropped so low that I would consider myself successful to work shit minimum wage jobs because there's nothing else I can do. I used to think I would be successful and have an important job just because I had any college degree. How wrong I was...Don't give up hope mate, climb back up the ladder. You can do it

You can do itNah, there's nothing I can do, trust me I have been searching for 9 months and submitted 70+ applications with thoughtfully written cover letters. The most I can hope for is to work in retail, eventually become an assistant manager, and then maybe a manager. All I can do with my degree is teach, which I can't even do now without going back to school for another 2 years and I don't want to do that.
I'm an engineering major, so hopefully I'll be six figures successful.

There's plenty of places hiring chemical engineers so I'm not too too concerned about it, but I'll play things safe just in case the economy is real bad by the time I graduate.

How successful do I think I'll be?I honestly have my doubts. Not of my ability, but of whether I can open all the doors necessary to make it with my music. It's not just being good. It's a hundred different things:NetworkingGood musicBeing uniqueHaving an imageBeing in a location that can get you performancesThe proper genre for your location and audience.........it's a lot to worry about. At least I'll have my Bachelor's Degree in [to be determined] to fall back on if my music is an absolute flop.

I've been reticent with my projects, dealing with other things. But the precedent is that when I get shit done, I rise to the top.I'm going to be famous.

I'm a naturally good actor and I can draw/paint/whatever, although I prefer inks, so I'll probably dabble in those once I've made it. Oh and poetry. I'll see what I can do for the perth poetry scene. Also aspirations in some super-ethical business projects once I've made it. The very height of my dream is a sort of Artistic Empire in my name. Twist Brand. I am the revolution. But it's best to be humble and live in the here and now. I'll always keep it real and stay honest. I'm just some guy.

Trying to fulfill that artistic side of me.But I'll have a fallback if it doesn't work out: whatever I get my Bachelor's Degree in.I get fulfillment when I get a song recorded, and it sounds great. Or I play in the band Thursday nights at my college group, and everything comes together perfectly. I'd like to live off of delving further and further into songwriting and playing music. It won't be easy, and I'll probably lose a lot of money at first. But if it gives me meaning in life? It's worth it.
