Honda CR-Z. Called a 'sport hybrid'.
It doesn't ever run pure electric. Instead the electric engine either helps fuel economy, or you put it into sport mode and it helps performance.

That's similar to Ford Eco-Boost

I'm considering an EV. Probably going to lease a Leaf in the near future.

Currently my A3 averages about 19mpg on a tank.

18 city and 22-25 highway (depending on cruise control and A/C).

It only took me a third of a tank to get from Lexington, SC to Charleston. Pretty damn good for a minivan.
