Furniture restoration's a pretty solid bet. The downside is the investment in time. If you find that it's not something you want to do, then it's a heavy price. Refinishing isn't that difficult though. It's the meticulous nature many people can't deal with. Why not try it out? Just teaching yourself the basics and refining it? Not like you're going to do anything else in the meantime right?

Soon to quit my job after getting into Uni again to do a Master's, fully funded courtesy of the Welsh gov.

I work(ed) in a cocktail bar so it seems like with the furlough scheme winding down and the chance of a 2nd wave coming up, getting out now while the gettin' is good.

Still finishing off my Master's. Been working on this dissertation since January and will be done within the next 2 weeks finally. No idea where I'll end up job-wise. If anything this degree has left me more uncertain as to where I'll go.

Not yet, but quit my job and have money saved up. Just found one of the last things I was looking for before I left, so now I just need to finish packing. Have to put of getting my wisdom tooth pulled, so I'm hoping that lasts, but it's not in a good way. Otherwise tryna get a new phone asap, but that's been an issue for a while. And trying to get a gun before I go driving across the country, but I'm being indecisive on which of the two I want

Still working on home renovations probably won’t be done for another month because it’s just me doing it. School is going better

i have no idea because i feel like im too old, for one.  That's really what has me hung up on so much, i feel like my time was wasted, but idk how much to go into.  People tell me i rag on my mom enough, even tho she fucking admits to it

The thing is, you have to have a least some level of income to start restoring furniture.

The eternal problem, I know. Step one, have money already. So you're telling me you don't currently have an income, even pre-corona? Or I'm going to guess that you're entrapped in a mass of bills and debt you can't break free of?

No I literally have no income. I haven't been able to work a legitimate job for years. The only reason I don't starve is because of my grandmother, who I live with.

I have been advised to try and apply for disability by multiple people but I avoided it for years because I just felt undeserving of free tax payer money like that. I've realized that I really need to just get over it and go for it so I can afford the most basic needs I have, but I haven't applied because I am having a very hard time getting a definitive diagnosis from doctors to prove my case to the government.
