I'm happy to help m80, I'm doing maths at uni, and I'm actually good at it.
That could help because I was doing close to jack-shit for the first half of the semester due to depression, too much coursework, and general stress. Now I've been trying to catch up, but I think I might have some basic understanding of the core principles of the last 2 chapters we did, so I need to fully understand those and completely learn all the Laws from the other 4 chapters in time to hopefully not fail the Final next Saturday.
calculus ii, right?

What were the last two chapters?
9 was Infinite Series, using Ratio test, convergence/divergence, alternating series, MacLaurin(not sure on spelling, teacher has questionable handwriting) and Taylor Polynomials.
10 was Parametric and Polar curves and arc lengths of polar coordinates.

Since we're talking about Calculus, if someone has the time to explain Riemann Sums and Riemann Integration, I will be forever in your debt. I can't do them for my life.

Well a Riemann integral is just a definite integral. Which if you've taken calc ii you've spent the entire semester doing. Any problems in particular?

A Riemann sum is basically the basis of the definite integral, if its limit as delta x approaches 0 exists. Where exactly are you seeing trouble?

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
Love life; but take nothing too seriously.
It's pretty easy to learn. People make it seem like its harder than what it really is. Unless you're talking about calculus III.

I guess you have a knack for it. It was pretty tough for me to grasp 3d math.

I'm only finishing up Calc I.

So, we learned the Fundamental Property of Calculus, or whatever it's called, but we are still required to know the long way to prove we understand what's going on.

I understand the basics of setting it up with figuring out delta x and what-not, but I can't seem to ever get it right.

sounds like you just need some practice. I wish I could type the right symbols because I could go over one with you, but I'm too dumd to do that.

Are you taking the samples(delta x areas) the right way? Recall you can take the samples measuring f(xk) at the right, or midpoint. Doing it from the midpoint yields the closest approximation to what the integral would give you.

Anything in particular?  Derivatives?  Areas? Integration?  Volumes of integration?  Taylor polynomials?
