I would've hosted a large Australian-themed leaving party, for him.

Then I would've printed out that post, mounted it on cardboard and hung it up somewhere prominent in the house/pub FOR EVERYONE TO SEE AND HUMILIATE HIM FOR.

But seriously, I do hope there was a leaving party. Those things get messy, in a fun-alcoholic-sex-in-the-disabled-toilets sorta way.

it was meant to be a more general conversation about what to do when your friends are wrong rather than specifically be about this small issue

i mean i see where you're coming from, it probably wasn't the best example he could've went with

but i still feel like there's a greater conversation of "faux pas and how to deal with them," which supersedes his singular petty example--because i feel like we all know a guy who's always making these minor errors, and not all of us may know a proper or polite way to deal with that

like, where do you draw the line between an error that's worth correcting and one that's worth ignoring
