I like how when you log out and view this thread, you see that it has 3 pages instead of 2, where 3rd page is the copy of 1st and before there was 2 actual pages, 2nd was an empty placeholder

I do, it bugged me for a minute and then I realized it’s because a page shows less signed out if you changed your post per page ratio in settings.

I feel kind of lucky in a sense that for the field I'm in, employeers couldn't care less about the degree and care more about my work and portfolio. People always say how you shouldn't go to uni for games stuff but I feel like it's been incredibly worth it for me as there's no way I'd have ever been able to use Zbrush, Substance or Maya for doing work without it.

it depends on the degree tbh. American education for college is set up so once you finish your gen ed and you switch majors when you're a junior or higher you'd theoretically need 2 extra years to get your new degree in the other field. Or something like that.

But i feel you verby chan. I feel like i wanna die because i need more fucking school to do anything with a subject i actually like because a bachelors isn't enough to do research with an astronomer or team. Literally the best i can do is be a telescope operator which isn't bad or teach but i need credentials to do so for the most part. Sometimes dropping out makes it seem like it's worth it

extremely difficult, and no, not at all really

it's more to do with my financial situation, and the prospect of me being yet another kid who's probably never gonna be able to climb out of the mariana trench of debt i've created for myself is beginning to take its toll on my sanity

to put it extremely lightly, i have absolutely no interest in any other subject beyond what i'm currently studying, so that would be the difficulty there—to put it more accurately, i would genuinely rather kill myself than spend my time learning about something i actively despise doing work for

not to mention, it would be a colossal waste of the 4 years i've already spent here for me to just suddenly drop everything and study a completely different subject—it would effectively double the debt i'm already in, and it would make me all the more miserable, because i had to give up my passion (the one thing everyone has been telling me to never ever do)

basically, it just so happens that the only thing i enjoy doing in school—my one passion—is completely worthless in terms of getting a job somewhere, not that i ever wanted one in the first place

i went to college to learn, not to get a fucking career—that was my mistake, and that's why i need a time machine
