I almost drowned in panic. I was...like around 10 i think.

When I was really young, I tripped on a sidewalk and I was seconds away from getting my head crushed by some stupid bastard in a car.

I once almost drowned in a pool when I was like 8. Besides that, I haven't really had close calls.

How so?

I was sawing wood while inebriated.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I also had pneumonia as an infant.

In terms of the involuntary, there was a kid in my elementary school who got picked on all the time, and one day, he snapped, and without warning, started tossing chairs and desks (with astonishing vigor and strength) across the room at a bunch of students, one of which nearly missed my head.

I wouldn't have been severely injured, but he did send at least one kid to the emergency room.

Oh damn, what happened to the kid that did it? Was he expelled or suspended?

Yes. A living room door. Thrown in my direction and would have likely killed me had it been a bit lower.

I was laying in bed telling myself to get up and shoot myself, but I felt lazy and tired.

ACTUALLY: I was dead at birth for about 1-5 minutes tops. I was trying to strangle myself. Probably because I pick up on things faster than I let on and knew I was going to die in the end anyways.

He was only suspended, but for the entire year. We never saw him again anyway.

Born prematurely with a jacked up heart. 50/50 chance of survival.
Doctors tried to fix one of the valves on my heart, and I've got a lovely scar on my back as proof of that.

But once they did the surgery, they couldn't really do anything for me. So whatever happened, happened.

I'm happy to say I survived, and I'm here today.

I think the closest time I got to death was a suicide attempt.  Back in High School I did fairly well in all of my classes except math.  I despised math, but worked with my mom to try and understand it since my math teachers were egotistical assholes who cared more about talking about their life stories than teaching.

After failing a math test (before senior year, I was God awful at Geometry) my mom practically screamed in my face about how I'd never be able to get anything past a burger flipper at McDonald's.  I promptly went into my dad's room, sneaked his pistol out, and went into my room.  I had the gun in my mouth a couple of times, but I couldn't do it.  Ended up being talked out of it by really good (but no longer want anything to do with me) friends.
