If someone who I know and joke around with a lot calls me 'tranny' in a friendly, ragging sort of way - as many of my friends do often - then that's entirely different from talking about "the trannies" and how certain things definitely make you "a tranny"

One has an obvious level of malice implied, the other obviously does not. Similarly, I say 'nigga' a lot because that's just slang that I use due to growing up in a heavily black area of Houston. I would not, however, say, "yes, well, let's look at these statistics that show the crime levels of whites and niggers in juxtaposition."
