"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.
Actually, he's not wrong on that being the derivative - just wrong on everthing else.

Gathering sticks is meant to be a woman's work, traditionally, and the term "faggot" was applied to gay and/or effeminate men in order to compare them to women.
Where did you get that from?
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=faggot

Besides, mine is better.
Look at the second one on the list you just linked

Tahdah
That's not what you said though. The only thing similar was it mentioned women and bundles of sticks.
Yeah, yeah, not similar at all. The only similarity was the entire fact that "faggot" is meant to equate gay people to women and originated from the term for a bundle of sticks.

Oh, wait, that's pretty much what I said, isn't it?
Except women are not gathering bundles of sticks.
Bruh, it literally says on the page "I MEAN MAYBE THIS IS WHERE IT'S FROM BUT IUNNO"

Wikipedia lists both your example and mine as well as about five others. It's pretty unknown where the slur originated.
Yes, but mine is best.

tbh though from general experience tranny is used a lot less malevolently than shit like shemale or it
Well, yeah. Shemale, it, and trap will always be worse than 'tranny', but that doesn't mean that the latter's a lovely thing to hear.
I guess I though it was useful instead of always having to say "trans person"
im always trying to find ways to cut down unnecessary syllables
but now that I think about it there's also no equivalent for cis either
and cissy just sounds dumb

choosing not using a word for a specific purpose =/= banning it
You're banning use of it in that context

>Says it's not a troll thread

Anyways, that'd be like asking "how can you like rap music and not be a nigger?"

Check it out, I even put in the slur.

What you like has nothing to do with who you are. You can be a guy who likes playing with dolls and wearing dressed whilst being perfectly comfortable being male, and by the same token you can be a girl who likes watching football and wearing baggy jeans whilst being perfectly comfortable being female. The two don't correlate directly just because activities are typically associated with genders - something that society has reinforced, as well.

SJW
So does "SJW" just mean "not a cunt"?

Am I supposed to be insulted by being called "not a cunt"?

People tend to misuse the term and I don't like it too much as it doesn't roll off the tongue well but it is fairly useful when referring to the particular brand of left wing radicals you typically see on sites like Twitter and Tumblr and in certain colleges because everyone will know what you mean.

I was talking about how you're banning it from your vocabulary, not enforcing that ban on others.

But that's just the thing - it has no real definition. It basically just means "more progressive than I am comfortable with" and can be used as such to any degree. I've seen "SJW" used on everything from otherkin that thought they were a goddess and that not worshipping them was 'triggering' to a gay dude that didn't like being referred to as "one of the good ones" because he wasn't overly effeminate.

It means nothing.

Let me show you the logic you're using right now:

Bob doesn't eat apples, he thinks they're gross.
Therefore Bob must think no one should be allowed to eat apples.

Please explain how that makes any sense.

It means nothing.

It's just a useful colloquial term and that's really it. There are crazy people in every political camp from Ayn Rand fanboys who want to eliminate all forms of welfare to contemporary progressives who talk about groups of people like they're monoliths.

There is no denying that words are extremely powerful. This is why playwrights, poets and authors that have been dead for years are to this day still remembered. They can and do have an emotional affect on people. They're how we communicate sentiments and ideas to one another.

Obviously, words can exacerbate depression and make it worse. But they're by no means the root, as Cindo was implying.
