All these characters are basically universally hated by the online community. I can see where they're coming from with most of them but I don't really understand it with Claire. If she's a backstabbing asshole then what does that make Frank?

Nobody hates Daenerys. As for everyone else you listed, they're counterparts to the antihero protagonist. You're not supposed to like them; but yeah, it's a common archetype.
