I'd reccommend you bring 5000% additional money on top of your travel funds, as you're literally satan over there if you don't tip after everything. I can't help you with hotels, but know that you'll be well off when you get rejected for a vacancy and tip the hotel manager for the privilidge of getting rejected so that he doesn't call the gang of mexicans out back on the other side of the hotel.
You went to Stanford?

I have four credit cards, and they're all maxed out.

gang of mexicans
I booked hotels when I was under 21. It depends on the hotel. (I booked at Mariott) Also you can use a debit card.
Reno?Sorry, no advice. NYC, Boston, SF, LA and of course San Diego... Then I can give advice
Quote from: MyNameIsCharlie on February 02, 2016, 12:21:52 AMReno?Sorry, no advice. NYC, Boston, SF, LA and of course San Diego... Then I can give adviceI was originally heading to NYC but it was just in general too expensive to have a legit good trip.I did go with my family a few years ago though and it is one of my favorite places on the planet. I cannot remember the restaurant but a little bit from time square there is this place that makes the most amazing steak in the world.
Is Reno locked in?Seattle may be better.

The hotel I stayed at was 21 and over so I can't help you OP. But when you're not spending time at Lake Tahoe I recommend going to Virginia City next to Reno. Lost of historical stuff if you're into that.
Also: book several months ahead of time. You'll save more money.

Quote from: Ramona on February 02, 2016, 12:17:37 AMI have four credit cards, and they're all maxed out.Off topic here, but one of the biggest differences I'm noticing between you and I as far as the homeless situation goes is that I didn't get myself into any debt or make stupid financial decisions. If I didn't have money for something, I didn't buy it. No loans, no credit cards, nothing. The only people I owe are people who did me favors (give me a couch to crash on, take me to lunch, pick me up when I couldn't use the bus, etc), and they just want me to pay if forward someday.
