i could be wrong, but i think in the case of there being a specific comparative form for an adjective, it is incorrect NOT to use that form

his tragic past of never losing anyone and doing his best to make sure everyone makes it out ok? that sure is edgy dude. the only part you could say has edge to it is how he was turned by his friend (who's believed to be shinji)
when he took something too far and was executed for it. but even then you're kind of stretching it. this isn't cold steel hate everyone kill everyone the world is evil bad and no good so it's time to make sandy hook look like a child playing house.

I can understand people thinking he's edgy for wanting to kill his past self at first glance, but when you realize that he hates being a counter guardian because he's forced to murder people when his entire life was about trying to save people it's hard to say that's edgy.

there are aspects that i like about it—the colorful characters and their cool personalities are the show' s biggest pull—but it gets bogged down with the usual shonen anime tropes that tend to ruin shonen for me, and it only gets worse with that
